Well-known harpist, Bonnie Caplan, moved to Sarasota in 1977 and has since performed at over 1,500 weddings along Florida’s Gulf Coast, plus many other venues. Her talented variety of musical styles and extensive repertoire make her extremely popular whether as a soloist or with one of her ensembles.

Bonnie graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Music with a BME and continued her advanced studies at the University of Maryland and Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. She has held positions with various orchestras in Nebraska, Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, and along Florida’s West Coast as well as worked with such entertainers as Steve Lawrence & Edyie Gorme, Marvin Hamlisch, Richard Chamberlain, Brian Wilson, Bernadette Peters, Barry Manilow, Roberta Flack, Manhattan Transfer, Michael Bolton, Johnny Mathis, Beach Boys, Peter Cetera, Oliva Newton John, and others. Bonnie is currently the resident harpist for afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

Locally Bonnie is on the “recommended list” for the Ritz-Carlton, Longboat Key Club, John & Mabel Ringling Museum, The Colony, Michael’s on East, Selby Gardens, Crosley Mansion, Ophelia’s on the Bay, plus other popular locations.
