Well-known harpist, Bonnie Caplan, moved to Sarasota in 1977 and has since performed at over 2,000 weddings along Florida’s Gulf Coast, plus many other venues. Her talented variety of musical styles and extensive repertoire make her extremely popular whether as a soloist or with one of her ensembles.

Bonnie graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Music with a BME and continued her advanced studies at the University of Maryland and Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. She has held positions with various orchestras in Nebraska, Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, and along Florida’s West Coast as well as worked with such entertainers as Steve Lawrence & Edyie Gorme, Marvin Hamlisch, Richard Chamberlain, Brian Wilson, Bernadette Peters, Barry Manilow, Roberta Flack, Manhattan Transfer, Michael Bolton, Johnny Mathis, Beach Boys, Peter Cetera, Oliva Newton John, and others. Bonnie is currently the resident harpist for afternoon tea at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

Locally Bonnie is on the “recommended list” for the Ritz-Carlton, Longboat Key Club, John & Mabel Ringling Museum, Michael’s on East, Selby Gardens, Crosley Mansion, plus other popular locations.

This outstanding and popular ensemble, comprised of vocalists and instrumentalists, present exciting programs of varied musical styles. Their "surprisingly outrageous eclectic repertoire covers a broad spectrum ranging from opera to Broadway, sacred, folk, and patriotic music. The "Divas and Dons" were established in 2008 by Bonnie and the "Divas" include Bonnie as harpist with lyric soprano Lorraine Murphy, and mezzo soprano Amy Connours. The "Dons" include baritone Tim O'Connor and pianist Steve McCoy. These are all consummate professionals who display verve, sparkling wit, and comedic timing. They are dedicated to entertaining their audiences with beautiful music that will linger in their minds long after the concert is over.
